Mars Tsunuki The First Japanese is a style of whisky originating from Kagoshima, Japan. It is famous for its unique flavor profile. Mars Tsunuki Distillery started in 2016 in a small area surrounded by mountains. The company began producing distilled spirits in 1909, which continued for over 100 years.

The first single malt made and aged at Mars’ newest distillery, Snuki, is Mars Tsunuki. The 2016 brewery only matures Shinshu single malts.

Distilled in 2016, this unique expression is aged in bourbon barrels. Bottled at 59%, this new single malt showcases Mars’ knowledge and expertise.
As the name suggests, this is the first release from the Mars Tsunuki distillery on Kyushu Island. After almost three years in bourbon and sherry barrels, the 2016–2017 single malt was bottled at 59% ABV. This is the first sea-aged Mars distillate. Available from December 2020.

Nose: Sultana, almonds, dried oak, ripe cherries, and a hint of spicy ginger.
Taste: Still quite nutty, not chocolatey peanuts and walnuts. Green grapes, crispy apples, and toffee.
Finish: It dries out subtly with cinnamon and black pepper but leaves a fruity note to the finish.
